A familiar sight behind the present day Joplin Public Library, the Post Office no longer is the center of mail coming and going in Joplin. However, it is a survivor built in 1905 and here are three views of the building from shortly after it was built and this last summer. Not bad for a 105 year old.
In the future, we’ll share more information on Joplin’s old post office, until then enjoy the photographs!
Wow. Those traffic light poles are really ugly.
I noticed that the fancy little ornamental feature at the top center of the building is gone. Maybe it was taken down when the building was no longer used as a post office?
